SEPTEMBER 5 – THE COMET BAR, CINCINNATI, OH [SHOW #76]
Day 88. 21,028 miles.
Patrick here again, Man Cinci is such a rock n roll town! We got to hang for a few days at Ashley’s dad and step mom’s place and it was so relaxing. We worked on some new tunes, played some cards, drank some brews and hell I got to do some cooking! That is one thing I miss a lot on the road is cooking a big meal! So Ash and I went to the store and got some goods and cooked a huge meal for everyone it was a blast!
Our show in Cinci was great and back at the first place we ever played in the town, The Comet Bar! The Comet rules, it has an amazing beer selection, a great Jukebox and some of the best Burritos in the world! Electricity was in the air, well… actually it was in Joe and I’s bodies as we got jolted by shocks every time we sang into the microphones. Devin got his shock too when I lifted him on my shoulders and a jolt went from my body to his! He kept hitting me to put him down, my brother in law who was at the show said “I Think I saw his hair stand up!”
Anyway the show ruled, I had lots of family (pictured above) come out and tons of friends. Including James from Hat Company (who invited us to his Thai Restaraunt, and gave us free Saki! :)) and Mike who always comes to our CINCI shows.. Some of you may know Mike from our little tour doc, “DON’T CRY” from our Jan 2008 tour doc. Mike has been talking about opening a Pizza joint for a few years and he was so happy he could finally invite us up to try some pie at the brand new NORTHSIDE SLICE! We did and it was amazing! Best Vegan Pizza I ever had! The other three got a whole pie and Mike even said he would call it the PCC PIE invented by Devin, aka the DEVIN DELUXE it includes… Pep, Green Olives, Roma Tomatoes, and Roasted Garlic! Sounds amazing. Congrats to Mike we are so proud of you and your crust was amazing!
Also we got to hit up one of our favorite record stores in the world, Shake it Records! We got super excited to see our record there on Vinyl and Cd as well! I also picked up the DVD of Bob Dylan’s Eat the Document! Cant wait to watch it at the end of tour.
We also got to head to the amazing free Cinci Art Museum and got to see some of our favorite artist work including Picasso, Warhol, Rothko. So so so amazing! Thanks to my lovely Ash for making us feel at home, and letting us watch VH1 classic we had such a great time!
