![SEPTEMBER 20 – THE SHOP @ PARTS & LABOUR, TORONTO, ON [SHOW#86]
Day 103. 24,628 miles. The PCC’s first trip to Canada! Crossed into Toronto where we got held up at Customs & Immigration for over an hour while we went over all the paperwork to gain admittance into the country. After we arrived and loaded into the venue, we met up with our old friend Brad Davis and his wife Joanne who prepared a delicious dinner of butternut squash soup, bread and cous cous at their apartment nearby. It certainly hit the spot for the four of us, who have been battling cold symptoms lately. Brad used to be in Oval-Teen, a band that Patrick first became a fan of while he was in high school. He now records under the name Lake Holiday, who The PCC made a split 7” record with some years back. It was great to see him again, and to finally meet his wife.
The show at The Shop was a total blast. Many wild kids filled the space, which was in the basement below the Parts & Labour restaurant. There was no stage, and the crowd was right up on the bands. It was the first show we’ve played to a moshing crowd in quite some time. The crowd was great – good humored, loud, and ready for a party. Both Indian Handcrafts and Tera Melos were great that night, and the crowd seemed to love all the bands. It was our first experience playing to a Tera Melos crowd, and we were glad to have a few friends of our own in the house. The next morning we visited Brad at Sonic Boom – the massive record shop he works at in Toronto.
