SEPTEMBER 30 – GABE’S, IOWA CITY, IA [SHOW #91]
Day 113. 26,765 miles. Had a few days off in Iowa City to rehearse and work on some new material. Went to see The Wheelers play at The Mill, got some rest at Don & Tara’s place in Kalona while they were away on their honeymoon. The show at Gabe’s was a blast. Mumford’s played a fantastically wild set. The band is so much tighter after their recent tour, the horns were big, brassy and bold. Utopia Park followed with a huge synth-driven sound. We were quite blown away, and they were terrific and very energetic performers.
