OCTOBER 6 – O’LEAVER’S PUB, OMAHA, NE [SHOW #96]
Day 119. 28,440 miles. Such beautiful weather we’ve been experiencing. Made the easy drive up I-29 to Omaha, where we had dinner at Baker’s grocery store. Then we went down to O’Leaver’s Pub early and played some Euchre (first time in a month!) on the outside patio. We’ve played O’Leaver’s a number of times in the past, and it’s always a fun place to play. The walls are covered in album sleeves, there are a few TVs about, and there’s always some good tunes coming out of the jukebox. We pulled up to a good spot to watch game 1 of the Twins-Yankees divisional series playoff game (it didn’t end up well for the Twinkies). The first to play that night was Kyle Harvey, whom we know from It’s True. Kyle played a great solo set, creating walls of wonderful electric guitar sounds to accompany his singing.
