The Poison Control Center

NOVEMBER 13 – HIGH DIVE, SEATTLE, WA [SHOW #123]
Day 157.  37,061 miles.  We started off the day at Starbucks loading up on some coffee for the rainy day drive to Seattle.  Beth rode along with us in the van and was good company.  We kept asking her how she enjoys tour life after one night and she was having fun.  Time did not allow us to stop at her place once we reached Seattle and we went straight to Freemont to load into the High Dive.  Since an early show was already taking place, we had some time to kill before our show was to begin.  So we sort of split up and explored the Freemont area.  There was a fantastic record store nearby called Jive Time.  Patrick and Devin found a good Vietnamese restaurant and I had grabbed some tacos from a nearby Tacqueria.  Chilly and wet it was outside, but the cool air was refreshing.
Back at the club we reunited with Alli Arnold, who was in town for the week from NYC, and she introduced us to some friends that she brought out to the show.  Our dear Seattle friends Keenan & John also came out, celebrating their last Seattle show before they relocate to Athens.  Also Dan Schultz was in attendance.  It was our first time seeing him since he became a father to a baby boy just two months ago.  We congratulated him and had a nice time catching up.  As usual, he brought his cameras to shoot us.  When I asked Beth if she missed her house she said “I don’t miss my place, but I do miss my bed.”  This is our second show at the High Dive on this tour, the first visit was four months and 90 shows ago.  We had a blast that night and tonight’s show was no disappointment.  The opening act, The Royal Bear, were great, real nice dudes, and a fun band to watch.  We played in the middle, and the closing act, the fantastic Yuni In Taxco, impressed us with their songcraft and performance.
