The Poison Control Center

The Poison Control Center make Quaker Goes Deaf’s top 50 albums of the year at #35

#35:  The Poison Control Center—Sad Sour Future   (Afternoon)
On their 5th album since 2001 this Iowa band delivers a sort of exuberant, melodic & fun pop/rock in a  “classic” indie rock style.  Songs are endearing & fresh, with an 80s/90s feel—packed with charmingly jagged tunes & disarming auditory surprises.  Reminiscent of bands like Pavement, Archers Of Loaf, They Might Be Giants, Weezer, Guided By Voices, Feelies, Free Energy.
Thanks Charlie…
Remember it’s that time of year the 4th Annual Asklandaganza is this Saturday in Des Moines! If you don’t remember the last 3 years (which you probably wouldn’t due to the 100 man shot!) have been amazing!  Be there for both shows!
