The Poison Control Center

FEBRUARY 18 – OAKLAND CENTER FOR THE ARTS, YOUNGSTOWN, OH [SHOW #150]
Finally made good on The Zou’s invitation to come out and rock Youngstown.  They organized a show in the blackbox theater of the Oakland Center as sort of a celebration for the recovery of 75% of their stolen gear.  Many Zou fans in attendance, and we were invited to perform at the end of the evening.  We had a great time.  Helped them to load in cases upon cases of beer, set up the stage and bar, and set up the merchandise area.  We had some costume fun in the backstage green room before the show, and pranced around shooting some video footage with Shawn’s help.  Triggers opened the show with a great set.  The Zou played next and were absolutely fantastic, and we closed the evening to an appreciative crowd.  Made some friends that night discussing art and films.  After the show wrapped up we went to Khaled’s place where we stayed up for hours doing group sing-along of our favorite oldies and Broadway show tunes, eating cheeseburgers and pizza, and discovering the pleasantries of the hookah.
The word we heard:  “I thought he was my birthday present” –Rob, referring to Shawn
The pet we met:  Henry
The pad was rad:  Khaled
Our friend the Bartend:  Rashed
Sound Tech we respect:  Dennis
The fill of the bill:  Triggers / The Zou
Monument / Some Ordinary Vision / Magic Circle Symphony / Dracula’s Casket / Don’t Go / Pacific Sunrise / Torpedoes on Tuesday / Give It a Try / When the World Sleeps
