The Poison Control Center

FEBRUARY 20 – MERCURY LOUNGE, NEW YORK, NY [SHOW #152]
[JT]  We are now proud owners of an E-Z Pass that will allow us to pass through tollways at a quicker pace for a discounted price.  We feel foolish for not investing in one a year ago.  Drove all day from Rochester to New York City for our return to Mercury Lounge.  Went directly to the club for load-in and then bummed around waiting for our NY friends to arrive.  We met the guys from the first band, Crinkles, who were real nice, and they played a wonderful set.  We got to see many of favorite faces:  Willie, Kelly, Todd, Alli (who never misses us in NYC), Liam, Jonathan, and more.  We played a longish set second, and had a good time.  This stop in the City was extremely brief for us, as travel plans dictated that we had to stay at an airport hotel in Newark.  But we made the most of our time and went out late with Kelly and Alli to an all-night diner for some late grub and company.  We ordered a few breakfast plates, fries and onion rings.  The snow was beginning to fall and Patrick was falling asleep.  Dropped Alli off at her apartment before making the snowy drive through the Lincoln tunnel to New Jersey.  Kelly was able to get an hour of sleep before she had to get up to catch the airport shuttle to make her early flight, which she discovered was cancelled when she arrived at the airport.  So she returned to the hotel for a few more hours of sleep, and hung out with us later in the morning as we all got up and around.
