Heart is open: Running into #RobertPollard of #GuidedbyVoices in Iowa City.
It’s pretty darn incredible to witness someone meeting their idol. My husband Patrick loves and respects Mr. Pollard with all of his heart, and when Bob was nice to us it made us all so happy!
Patrick: Can we get our picture taken with you?
Robert: Sure.
Patrick: Guided by Voices is the greatest rock band of all time.
Robert: That’ll get you two pictures [chuckling].
I think the body language (remember mirroring!?) between Robert and Patrick is so fun, and I included the close-ups, so you can see the looks on their faces.
These two are style mates for sure! They’re both representing their home states - Pollard in a “Surf Ohio” tee (he’s from Dayton), and Patrick in his, “I Love Iowa City” from White Rabbit. Their tennies, clothing dimensions & lines (where they fall on the body), and curly gray hair kills me!
Afterwards, Patrick was wishing his hair was this bright, and I had to tell him that I think it is not totally natural. I noticed the lovely lady he was with (wife?) had some pretty fabulous hair as well, and my Psychic Style instincts tell me that maybe he has some help achieving this effect? ;-) I could be wrong.
Thanks Robert, you taking time out made our day, and is something we will never forget!
