![MARCH 26 – O’LEAVER’S PUB, OMAHA, NE [SHOW #180]
[JT] Our friends Casper & The Cookies are out on tour right now, criss-crossing the same path as we. After their two (!) Des Moines shows fell through, they contacted us to see if they could get on our show at O’Leaver’s in Omaha. After checking with the club, it was permissible, and they arrived at the club and set up their instruments first. Jason told us about the string of bad luck they had been having on this tour: dropped shows and some poor turnouts. They were happy to see us, and Patrick and I were tickled to have the original bill of our first meeting with Brass Bed. Saturday night at O’Leaver’s, and the bar was quickly getting packed. The Cookies ripped into their set, and the people there were really digging it. Brass Bed played second, and local band New Lung played third. We played last, and had a rollicking show. Someone had brought in a blow-up Guido sex doll into the bar, and when we were playing Give It a Try the doll was airborne, getting tossed all around the joint. Someone threw the doll at Devin just as he was throwing on his guitar and the doll got stuck in his strap, hanging from Devin throughout the duration of the song with its inflated boner swaying everywhere. Everyone in the bar erupted in laughter and applause, pulling out their cell phones and cameras.
