MARCH 29 – MFR NIGHT @ HONEY, MINNEAPOLIS, MN [SHOW #184]
[JT] Minneapolisfuckingrocks blog sponsors a Tuesday night music night at the underground bar Honey on the north side of Minneapolis, and tonight we and Brass Bed were the featured guests. When we first entered the building and walked down the flight of stairs, our first impression was that this was not a typical Minneapolis bar. The place was decked out in modern-looking leather furniture, and was dimly lit by lamps hanging on the red and yellow stone walls. We thought it looked very New York City. We came to find out that the owners were from New York, and it was their very intention to make a NYC-style club. Ian Anderson, the head of our record label, was also there as the DJ between bands. It was good to see him in person again and talk about the progress on the new record (just got sent off to the record plant!). Many of our Minneapolis friends came out to see us, much of them originally from Iowa. Always good to be among the old faces again. Brass bed played first, and we second. It was a typical Minneapolis show, and we played a long set. After we packed up at the end of the show, we decided to drive back to Ames late, Patrick at the wheel and I DJing the iPod to keep him awake.
Dinner was a winner: Qdoba and Chipotle burritos
