APRIL 3 – THE FREQUENCY, MADISON, WI [SHOW #191]
[JT] Day 227. 49,700 miles. The downstairs green room of The Frequency had table hockey! The Brass Bed boys played a team match and David and I went head-to-head. I could have played it all night. The bartender Darwin told me that he often holds tournaments there, and competes in international tournaments himself. “I sign up for the tournaments and learn by losing to the better players. The Russians are the best,” he said.
Our loyal friend/fan Daniella came to the show, our first in Madison in (gasp!) five years. She has been travelling to see us in various cities for the past couple years, this time we finally came to her. The Frequency is a really cool bar with great beer that we enjoyed while the opening blues band played. Outside came an intense hailstorm followed by an hour of heavy rain. The back live room had a good-sounding stage. The Soundman, Mark, does a superb job. A local DJ from WSUM Radio named Joe was in attendance. He has been heavily supporting Sad Sour Future on his station and he was quite the gentleman. We also met a woman and her teenage daughter who travelled two hours to see our show, and they were very modest and sweet.
